Eligibility Criteria in DetailTo apply for the SCI Court Master (Shorthand) post, candidates must meet strict criteria to ensure they can handle the demands of court proceedings. - Educational Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from any recognized university is mandatory. However, candidates with a Law Degree (LLB or equivalent) get extra weightage in the selection. You also need proven skills in English shorthand at 120 words per minute and computer typing at 40 words per minute. These skills are crucial for transcribing court hearings accurately and efficiently.
- Experience: At least 5 years of regular service as a Private Secretary, Personal Assistant, or Stenographer in a government department, Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), or statutory body. This ensures applicants have practical exposure to administrative and secretarial duties.
- Age Requirements: As mentioned, between 30 and 45 years as on 01/07/2025. SCI offers relaxations for SC/ST (up to 5 years), OBC (3 years), Persons with Disabilities (10 years), Ex-Servicemen, and dependents of Freedom Fighters, following Government of India norms. Departmental candidates from SCI have no upper age limit.
